From Classroom to Career: Meet Moti and Ranjana, Academia's Intern Achievers

This semester, we'd like you to meet two remarkable BCA 7th Semester students who are doing exactly that: Moti and Ranjana.
Moti: Building the Future of Smart Canteen Management
When Moti joined the internship programme, she didn't just want to write code — she wanted to solve a problem people face every single day. Her project, a Canteen Management System, is designed to streamline how food orders are placed, managed, and tracked in institutional settings.
From designing the database architecture to building a user-friendly interface, Moti has been applying everything she learned in his BCA coursework — data structures, database management, and software engineering principles — to create something genuinely useful. What was once theory on a whiteboard is now a working system that could transform how students and staff experience their daily meals.
"It felt different when I realized the project wasn't just an assignment," Moti shared. "People might actually use what I'm building."
That shift—from student to solution-builder—is exactly what Academia's internship experience creates.
Ranjana: Connecting Talent with Opportunity through a Career Portal
Ranjana chose a project close to her heart: a Career portal—a platform designed to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. As someone who has navigated the world of career planning herself, she understood the pain points: scattered listings, unclear application processes, and a lack of centralized information.
Her internship has taken her deep into web development, UI/UX design, and backend logic—all coming together in a platform that could help hundreds of students find their footing in the professional world.
"I want this portal to be something students actually trust and return to," Ranjana said. "That keeps me motivated to make it better every day."
Her drive reflects something we see consistently in AIC students: a sense of purpose that goes beyond grades.
